Clean up actors: choose to omit any isolated actors (no connections to any others - note this is done automatically if a network focus actor is specified above), leaf actors (a actor with a single connection), or repeatedly remove leaf actors (multiple passes - be aware this will remove a string of actors which form a line or star layout).
Output file format
  • GEXF is the recommended file format for use with the Gephi social network analysis tool.
  • Similarly, GraphML is the recommended file format for use with SocNetV.
  • GEDCOM is the standard file format for genealogical data: this file type only represents parent/parent and parent/child relationships.
Not all the data is represented in all file formats, and not all facilities available in all file formats are utilised.
The format of the actor labels when the file format allows it: not applicable for adjacency matrices or GED files.
